CLEOPATRA in Oslo
During the IPY science conference in Oslo last week, many of the CLEOPATRA involved researchers found their way to Norway's capital and presented the most recent results from our project. Janne Søreide was interviewed by Sue Nelson from BBC.
New important CLEOPATRA paper
New important findings from the Norwegian IPY project CLEOPATRA is now available in the journal Global Change BIology

During the upcoming large IPY (Internatioal Polar Year) science conference in Oslo (5.-12.6., see also: http://www.ipy-osc.no/) we will present core findings of our project in various talks and posters.
On the way to a circumpolar synthesis of marine research at lower trophic levels
A team of CLEOPATRA researchers from NP and UNIS travelled last week to Rimouski, Canada to meet their colleagues from the CFL-project (Circumpolar Flaw Lead Study), one of the largest ongoing IPY-projects.
CLEOPATRA finishes very busy field season
In its 2nd year, the IPY-project CLEOPATRA had a really busy field season with activities going on in all Arctic regions.
CLEOPATRA goes Russia
First results of the 2007/08 field season were presented by Janne Søreide and Eva Leu at the SCAR/IASC IPY Open Science Conference in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Field work in Svalbard has started
Two weeks ago a small team of three went to Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard to carry out experiments about the effect of light and UV radiation on algal food quality. About 10 days later, a group of 6 went to Rijpfjorden on Nordaustlandet to continue our sampling activities there, and to pick up alive copepods that will be used in experiments in Longyearbyen in May/June.
