CLEOPATRA researchers off to Canada (10.3.2008)

Stig Falk-Petersen and Anette Wold (both NP) will travel to Canada next monday in order to join leg 7 of the Circumpolar Flaw Lead Systems Study (CFL). They will stay onboard the Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen for 5 weeks, and will collect ice algae, zooplankton and amphipod samples. The cooperation with the Canadians is part of IPY activities, and the aim is to obtain data that are comparable to the material we collected in Rijpfjorden, Nordaustlandet last year. More information about the Canadian project can be found on the CFL homepage.

The local newspaper Nordlys (Tromsø) had this week an article about the Norwegian participation in the CFL study.
