We would like to inform the public about our ongoing research activities, and tell them why we think this type of research is important, and what we hope to find out. Both electronic and print media, as well as TV stations have been reporting about our activities. Links to these publications are listed below:

Article in Svalbardposten in March 2007
The first field period of the ICE EDGE PROGRAMME started on the same day as the IPY (International Polar Year 2007-2008). The local newspaper 'Svalbardposten' had an article about this in early March 2007:

Mikko Vihtakari, one of the expedition members, wrote a blog about the adventures of Polar research under really harsh conditions in March
Article about Ice Edge activities in Canada in Nordlys (5.3.2008)
Three scientists involved in the ICE EDGE PROGRAMME will participate in fieldworl onboard the Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen during spring 2008. Just before they left, the local newspaper Nordlys in Tromsø had an article about their planned activities.

Being part of a huge expedition with many scientists involved means also a lot of waiting before it is your turn to take your samples again ... - but there are many ways to get the time going by in the meanwhile!
